Hello. I'm a republican who is respectfully trying to find decent counterpoint conversations to listen to and i appreciate you folks. My goal it to better understand why anyone would vote for Biden and I mean that genuinely. I hope to gain some insight from you that is better than the argumentative and downright disrespectful folks at MSNBC and such. She is running every Trump tactic: never admit a mistake, double down on it, play victim, dodge questions by jumping to some memorized talking point or with “we SHOULD be talking about more important things, like…”, talk over people, try to dominate the interview, etc. She just is not doing it very well.

Re the Nancy French interview you did:That was a moving interview. I share a lot of your political stories. I live in TN currently. Grew up conservative, big moment was seeing Reagan speak at UA in 1984. It's all just ashes now. Everything the GOP said about civic virtue and honor was lies apparently. There are no intellectuals in the GOP, they've sold out or moved out. The "thought" comes from dimwits on FOX and Tik-Tok. Party Lindsey Graham hysterically hyperventilates about Hiroshima on the Sunday chat shows, bless his heart. I guess people like Jim Thune try to have some sanity behind the scenes, but anyone with big public career hopes like Rubio has to act like an arse. What I stood for politically since the Eighties is gone. All I can do is vote Democrat and hope for the best and think about when conservatism stood for intelligence and virtue, or when I thought it did. It's over now. Wish Nancy French the best on the cancer fight. My Mom and sister both had. She seems like a charming person.

As of this moment, Trump is not a convicted felon. He is a former president running for re election, and is the Republican official presidential candidate. Felons are not prohibited from holding the office of the president. No matter how you look at it, avoiding a debate will have consequences. The stated reasons for Biden to avoid a debate is just grasping at straws. He wouldn't look good in a debate is a good reason to not debate. At least it's honest.

The speech at the end by Guy felt very flat. It's important to recognize that the privileged graduates from their POV are using their privilege to highlight an issue they believe the administration is handling poorly. Arguing that "you have privilege and therefore should be grateful and not cause a fuss" is a bad faith argument, especially when it's clear you already disagree with the substance of the protesters' concerns. The speech itself was great and he’s right we all should use our privilege to help others

I think he will pick Burgum. Trump is completely against Biden's green energy plans and like he did when he followed Obama, he set out to undo as much of Obama's agenda as he could. (He was really, really angry that the ACA wasn't overturned, despite the fact that he had no replacement plan.) In Burgum he gets a guy who is completely on board with Trump's plans to increase more drilling for oil and other anti-green energy policies.
